Physicians Dashboard

Information about the patient is presented in an easy to understand and quickly accessible electronic format. This includes details of allergies, family medical history, details of previous visits, medications and earlier coding information. This serves as a quick reference for the physicians during any appointment without having to pull out multiple reports and patient charts from the practice management system.

Episodes Coding Application for Physicians

Calsoft Labs has created a custom application to record coding information by physicians themselves. This application provides surgeons a quick and efficient method of coding the procedures used for any patient. This application helps to eliminate common mistakes in coding and accelerate the billing and insurance payments cycle. The application maintains its own list of CPT4 codes and ICD9 codes and the relations to the various organ systems. It is a self-learning, adaptive system that prompts the surgeons to use the correct procedure codes based on historical usage. The application also allows the surgeons to default diagnosis and procedure codes based on the previous treatment records of the patients to reduce data entry. The application has well defined interfaces to standard scheduling and billing systems used by Physician Practices to synchronize appointments, coded procedures, updates in CPTs and ICDs and insurance information.

This application is also workflow enabled, allowing the front office staff to schedule patient appointments for office and hospital visits, coding of the diagnosis and procedure codes by surgeons, verification of the codes by a billing expert and then creation of the billing records by the accounts staff.

Payment Audit and Payer Rating Application

The Payment Audit application form handles fee schedules efficiently and effectively. The Payment Audit application maintains Relative Value Units (RVUs) for the different CPTs. It provides the business office the ability to create and maintain RVUs for a group of CPTs, for ease of use. The Payment Audit application provides a simple interface for the business office user to compare actual payments against contracted payments. The application also gives the user the ability to flag any number of payments so that they do not come up in audit reports. Once the low payments are identified, the application allows the user to follow-up and maintains status on appeals. It also provides a facility for the user to create and maintain multiple letter formats that can be used as templates for generating and printing appeals. Mail merge and print functionality are also built-in.

Online Patient Registration and Scheduling Application

This application allow patients using the internet to list the Physician Directory and request appointments with physicians in the practice, send messages to the front office on billing-related questions and keep track of medications and dosages. Patients may also read medical or physical exercise news articles related to the patient's own medical condition. Pre-Registration forms may also be filled out online. Automatic reminders can also be emailed to patients before upcoming appointments. Nurses can schedule appointments for patients from the examination room, rather than sending patients back to the reception.

Physician practices can limit the slots available for online scheduling, specify if staff or front office intervention is required for patient scheduling, list physicians available for online scheduling and select pre-registration questions that patients must answer.

Prescription Management System

Electronic Prescription writing forms are a subset of Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE). CPOE systems have helped practices reduce the prescription error rate as well as saved those institutions millions of dollars.

The features of this application include setting up of screening levels for drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-alcohol interactions. Prior Adverse reactions (allergies) are also checked. The dosage levels, duplication of therapy and drug-disease monitoring is included. Doctors can select the screening level that best represents their knowledge and experience of when prescribing the medications. The Prescriptions application would provide physicians' alerts and reports to keep track of the medications they prescribe to their patients. The immediate interest of clinicians in electronic prescribing has been drug formulary information for each insurance carrier in their practice, made accessible electronically for quick and easy reference at the time of prescribing. The application provides physicians the facility to maintain their own list of favorite drugs and prescriptions that allow for ease of use and quick adoption of the system.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Calsoft Labs has developed integrated Electronic Medical Records application that can integrate seamlessly with the multiple software applications that are used by practitioners. Physicians have secure real-time access to all patient care, treatment records and medical history. This application reduces the need for moving paper documents across practices and the use of Fax for exchanging information.

Medical Imaging Solutions

The Medical Imaging application from Calsoft Labs consists of two parts : the server application and the client application.The server application stores the images, indexes the images and provides user authentication rights. The client application consists of the viewer that connects to the server. The Medical Imaging solution from Calsoft Labs can be linked to any standard Electronic Medical Records application. The imaging solution enables physicians and other providers to exchange information on MRI and UT scanned images.

Integrated Home Health Patient Care and Billing Management Application

Calsoft Labs’s Integrated Home Health patient care and billing management application covers all home health provider activity in its value chain, from patient referral to managing bills and receivables. It takes care of patient referral and acceptance to care, initial evaluations and assessments by skilled nurses and therapists, plan of care and physician orders, order management, episode management, scheduling, QA and OBQI,and OASIS( re-certification, discharge and transfer) generation and submission. Billing setup for each episode can be customized to suit each patient’s paying means. The integrated home health patient care and billing management application can submit bills and claims to both Medicare and Medicaid via any intermediary. Customized billing setup allows administrators to bill portions of the episode charges to different payers. It also features a customizable Accounts Receivable process, so you can track payments received up to settlement or write-off. A full suite of reports and alerts give the administrators and managers of the episode and the business up-to-date information at their fingertips. Data is seamlessly exchanged between episode management and billing, making this application unique in its fully integrated nature.
