Calsoft Labs Management Team
Sam Santhosh, President & CEO
Sam Santhosh set up Calsoft Labs in 1995 in Foster City, CA as a wholly owned subsidiary of California Software Co Ltd (Calsoft), Madras, India. Earlier in 1992, he had started Calsoft at Madras with a small team of 8 engineers. By 1996, the company had grown to about 100 people and he took it Public in India. Today the Calsoft Group consists of 5 companies with over 600 employees and offices across the world. (www.calsoftgroup.com). Sam continues to be the Managing Director and CEO of Calsoft and directly oversees the Calsoft Labs operations at Pleasanton. Sam is also the Chairman of the Board of American HealthNet Inc. (www.americanhealthnet.com)
Sam started Calsoft with the vision of globally leveraging the low cost skilled manpower in India. With this goal, Calsoft lays considerable emphasis in recruiting the right talent and adequate training. Sam is a strong believer in Technological Excellence and has always focused Calsoft to be in the cutting edge of Technology.
Sam has an MBA, with an emphasis in Management Information Systems, and a degree in Engineering.
Dr. J.K. Nair, Executive Vice President & COO
Dr. J.K. Nair is the Executive Vice President & COO of the Company's operations in India and its offices abroad.
Dr. Nair has rich professional experience in business and software development that includes conceptualisation, design, development, implementation, consulting, research and education. Prior to joining Calsoft Labs he served as Director CRM - (Europe & Asia-Pacific) at Ramco Systems. While at Ramco he was associated with several global initiatives and was integral to setting and building up the CRM business line. He was responsible for Ramco gaining entry into Fortune 500 clients and managing some of the most prestigious and strategic global customers. His other significant professional achievements include spearheading several strategic consulting assignments and establishing numerous delivery and competency centres. Playing multiple roles, he established a strong and reliable ecosystem of customers, partners, sales and internal delivery teams to ensure predictable, sustainable and profitable business. At the time of his leaving Ramco the CRM line of business has done over $8.3 Million worth of business.
Dr. Nair was/is associated with several leading research and educational institutions such as DRDO Ahmednagar, NIT Calicut, IIT Chennai and IIM Bangalore in various roles. An Engineer by learning, he is an alumnus of IIT Chennai. He has a doctoral degree in Optimisation methods. His research and academic interests saw him visiting and addressing several universities/organizations in India, Western Europe and in the Middle East. He has supervised several undergraduate and post-graduate theses and has published more than two dozen research articles. He serves on the panel of referees for the International Journal of Production Research, and the International Journal of Production Economics.
Ramandeep Singh, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
As CTO, Ramandeep is driving the engineering teams & strategic planning activities for Calsoft Labs. He joined the Calsoft Labs management team from Aspire Communications; a subsidiary of Calsoft Labs. Ramandeep has over twenty years of experience in data networking, telecommunications and semiconductor technologies and as a senior level executive he managed strategic planning, business development, engineering and marketing related activities at various companies. Prior to joining Aspire, Ramandeep was marketing and operations head at Luminous Networks and before that he was CEO of Corona Networks. He also worked at Nortel, Bay Networks, Mitsubishi, VLSI Technology and LSI Logic. Ramandeep holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
Sai Satyam, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Sai brings a broad range of experience in finance and operations at companies both large and small. As CFO of the group, Sai is responsible for Calsoft Group's financial management, internal controls, reporting, business planning, accounting operations and group taxation.
Sai has over 21 years of global experience in the areas of management and finance. Prior to joining Calsoft, he served as a General Manager (finance and accounts) with Melsons Group, a Moscow based trading conglomerate with extensive networks in Russian Federation and Baltics. He has significant management experience in Africa and Asia. During his tenure of 6 years at Midland Galvanizing Products Ltd., Nigeria (part of Comcraft group), he has managed numerous strategic corporate initiatives involving corporate finance and accounting, business restructuring and acquisitions.
Sai is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He holds a Bachelor degree in commerce and accounting from the University of Madras and is an active member of the IMA.
Rathnakumar Kayyar (RK), Vice President & Head (Technology)
As the Vice President Technology at Calsoft Labs, Rathnakumar Kayyar (RK) is in charge of the Technology Group, His responsibilities include overall implementation of technology projects and Research & Development of cutting edge technologies.
RK joins Calsoft Labs/Calsoft through the acquisition of WebSpectrum Software Pvt Ltd (wholly owned Subsidiary of Calsoft). He is the co-founder and CEO of WebSpectrum.
RK has about two decades of experience in the IT industry. He started his career as a software developer. He worked with Hewlett-Packard for many years and was associated with the OpenView program. When OpenView was launched in India, he actively worked towards promoting the product.
At WebSpectrum, RK led the acquisition of reputed customers like Hewlett-Packard and Nortel Networks. He led the R&D initiatives in the development of many products.
Before founding WebSpectrum in 1997, RK was the CEO of Supernova Software, a company he founded with a team of IT professionals in 1987. He was responsible for many R&D initiatives as well as the successful execution of projects for many customers.
RK has conducted training programs in Telecommunication Management Networks (TMN) to many reputed companies like Lucent and Motorola.
RK holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Indian Institute of Science and a Bachelor of Science from Mysore University.
Michael Nottage Vice President, Embedded Software Solutions
As Vice President, of Embedded Software Solutions, Michael Nottage is responsible for the worldwide sales of Calsoft’s Embedded Solutions which include Macromedia products.
Michael has over thirty years of sales success including eight years with Xerox and over twenty years with NEC. During these 30 years, Michael has been directly responsible for sales of over one billion dollars of hardware and software solutions.
Prior to joining Calsoft, Michael was the Director of Sales at Vibren Technologies, Availant Corp. and NEC.
Michael is a USAF veteran and graduated cum laude from Newbury College.
Glen Baylor, Vice President (Business Development)
Glen oversees Business Development and Marketing activities at Calsoft Labs and California Software Co Ltd (Calsoft). He is focused on expanding software development opportunities globally and launching Calsoft Labs's new e-Business tools.
Glen has more than 25 years experience as a business executive and consultant in Silicon Valley. He has founded several technology companies and helped many others raise venture funds and take their products to market. Glen's marketing expertise spans hardware, software, networking services and e-Business solutions. Glen attended the University of San Francisco and California State University, Los Angeles. Has a degree in Political Science.
Subhash Nair, Vice President - Product Engineering Services
Subhash Nair is Vice President, Product Engineering Services business unit of Calsoft Labs. Subhash brings over 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, account management and project management as well as engineering skills in the software industry. Subhash has domain experience in B2B & B2C ecommerce, oil & energy trading, shipping, insurance, healthcare, biotech, networking, security and system software.
As Vice President, Subhash is responsible for overall sales, marketing as well as managing strategic customer accounts for this business unit. Subhash joined Calsoft Labs in 1997 and has played a key role in sales, marketing, project management and account management. Subhash was also responsible for the intial setup and operation of Calsoft Labs's branch office in Tokyo in 2001.
Prior to joining Calsoft Labs, Subhash has worked in India with Knoxware in sales of F-Secure (then F-Prot) security products and with HCL Frontline (then part of HCL-Hewlett Packard JV) in PC sales.
Subhash holds an MBA in marketing from California State University, East Bay and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Pune, India.
