Television Viewing Pattern Extraction (TVPE)
Calsoft Labs has designed and developed a Television Viewing Pattern Extraction (TVPE) device as part of its IPTV initiative. The TVPE device extracts viewing patterns and stores them on a database for analysis. A Calsoft Labs proprietary algorithm creates a unique signature for each channel and this information along with time when viewed and duration for which the user watched the channel is then periodically send to a central server via GPRS/Internet for viewing pattern analysis.
Using technology that is non-intrusive and much cheaper than currently available in the market, this unique solution from Calsoft Labs will ensure highly accurate TRP ratings from a large subscriber base. The TV viewing pattern analysis will also allow ISPs and telcos to provide highly targeted content and advertisements.
